Every good and perfect gift...

Easter weekend was wonderful for my sweet husband and I. I was off work on Good Friday, so we loaded up and went home on Thursday night.

I have a confession: it was great to go home and see our families (especially my mom, because what can I say? I am a mommy's girl!), but we went mainly for one reason, and one reason only-- to see Ellie Parker. And see her we did!

Ellie has grown so much since I saw her the day she was born. She has more hair now than she did a month ago. I may be a little biased, but world, look out-- Ellie Parker Gunter is beautiful!!! Oh my goodness, she is so pretty. My favorite part of getting to introduce Mat to his first "niece" was the fact that he was so excited about holding her. He held her for so long, and she started to get a little fussy once, but Mat just shhh-ed her some, and she stopped. He was so great with her. He's going to be a wonderful daddy someday. (Also, please notice Ellie's hands in the first picture-- her Uncle Mat taught her to pray.)

We got back in Mobile on Saturday night so we could experience Easter Sunday at Dauphin Way Baptist Church. It's famous, you know. I'm taking seersucker suits, women in hats, kids in suits and smocked gowns, the whole nine yards. And Mat and I were more than thrilled to be there. We donned traditional Easter attire. Mat wore his tan seersucker from the wedding (which brought many sweet, sweet memories for me), and I wore a cute little pink hat. It was a wonderful day celebrating our Savior's resurrection!

It was so good to go home and see our families. We needed to get away from Mobile for a little while, and there is no place in the world I would rather go than HOME. Mat always corrects me for saying home when I mean going back to where we grew up, but home for me is where the people I love are-- whether that be Boaz, Rome, Ft. Payne or Albertville. My family is my home. And God has given me the blessing of having a wonderful family who welcomes us back home anytime we wish. We are truly blessed.
