Recipe of the Week-- ROAST (Just like your momma never made it!)

This is, by far, the easiest and BEST recipe for roast ever. Trust me on this one, gals-- if you want your man to like your cookin', cook him up a pot of this roast and gravy, and he will request it forever. (Which, is great for you, considering how easy the recipe is!)

Ok, get out your pens. The ingredients list is LONG...

1 can of Cream of Mushroom soup
1 can of Cream of Chicken soup
1 rump roast (whatever size you'd like-- if it is a big roast, i.e. 6 pounds or more, do 2 cans of each soup)

Ok, so I was being sarcastic about the ingredients list being long.

Take the roast and put it in a crock-pot with the fat side up. Pour the soups over the roast. Place it on low, and let it cook 6-8 hours or until tender. And, voila! Your dinner is served.

My hubby likes it with mashed potatoes and a roll. Pretty simple, I'd say. And it is absolutely wonderful! Trust the Alexanders on this one-- we know our roasts!

Bon appetite!

(Did I mention it makes a WONDERFUL left-over? And there will be plenty left!)

  1. YUMMY! Some of my favorite cooking is done with the crockpot so I love roast...but I've never had it with the soups poured over it. I'll have to give this one a try.

  2. Hi, my Little Betty Crocker!! Don't forget this roast is also awesome over steamed rice. Yummmm!! And to give credit where credit is due, we got this wonderful recipe from your precious Aunt Tammy. I love you MORE!!!
