Might as well tell you now...

For the past seven months, I have been absolutely DYING to tell you something. But, I couldn't. However, I just got permission from MSH to tell you. So...here goes!

Oh, but first, you have to promise...and I mean really promise...that you can keep a secret, ok? Ok! Great!

MSH and I are moving to Louisville, KY, to attend The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary! We are moving on Aug. 3, and our last day at Dauphin Way Baptist Church will be Sunday, Aug. 2. (Mat has not officially resigned, but the entire staff and most people at Dauphin Way do know.)

We are so sad about leaving Dauphin Way. Mat has been on staff at D-Way for three years now, and I feel so at home there. We have so many friends and role models there, and it has just torn both of us up when we think about leaving. It was a heart-wrenching decision to choose to leave and follow God's call on our lives, but we know this is where the Lord is leading us. We are certain of it.

There are so many things the Lord has just worked out for us. First of all, our house has been on the market since about February, and it has just recently sold (well, pretty much sold-- we haven't signed papers yet). The fact that it even sold in this terrible housing market is a miracle in itself! Also, we didn't really have any idea about where we were going to live in Kentucky, but Southern emailed MSH last week, and we are going to be able to live ON CAMPUS! And if this wasn't blessing enough, we have already gotten a little bit of scholarship money (well, I say "we" but it was really MSH, which stands for My SMART Husband in that sentence). And also, Louisville is still five hours from our hometowns of Albertville and Boaz, and it is also five hours from our hometowns to Mobile. Our families are so glad we will not be any further apart from them than we already are!

MSH has done so much for us-- calling Southern, trying to get a job lined up (which is hard from here-- keep praying for us about that!), and doing etc. on the Internet to get everything situated. MSH will be getting his Master of Divinity in Biblical and Theological Studies. And yours truly will be getting my Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling. I'm so excited about the chance to get to go BACK to school. Crazy, I know, but I am a HUGE fan of learning!

You might remember this post where I wrote about Al Mohler. He will be our Seminary president. Another reason to be totally stoked about attending Southern.

Be praying for us, will you? We need all the prayers we can get. We are excited, but we've got a long way to go!

  1. Ever since I heard this news, I've been waiting for the day for you to post about it. Proud of you and Mat. Following God's will, though incredibly exciting, isn't always the easiest thing. I know it. I'm living it.

Lifting you up in prayer right now. Trusting that God will continue to bless you abundantly as you walk the path that He has set before you.
