a 2009 recap

I thought I needed to go back through my life and reflect on what has happened to Mat and I in 2009. Here goes...

January 2009-- Month 5 of our marriage; Mat and I travel to New Orleans for the Alabama Bowl Game, and we get slaughtered; Mat and I decide for sure to attend The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in August.

February 2009-- Mat and I spend Valentine's Day at home; Mat cooks the most amazing skillet steak I've ever eaten; Some of my cousin Megan's friend throw her a baby shower for Ellie Parker.

March 2009-- Ellie Parker is born; weighing in at 7 lbs., 3 oz., and 20.5 inches long. She is beautiful and my family is THRILLED!

April 2009-- I make Red Velvet cupcakes, and Mat's life is changed; a new kitty cat wanders up to our house, and we keep him; his name is Little One; Mat takes me to see the play version of "To Kill a Mockingbird" in Monroeville, AL.

May 2009-- My last month as the 4-year-old preschool teacher at Dauphin Way Child Development Center; I begin to pack up our house for the move to Louisville; Mat is given the OK to stay on at Dauphin Way through the summer so we can stay in Mobile.

June 2009-- Mat plays Paul in Dauphin Way Baptist Church's Vacation Bible School; Mat and I go to the beach with my family...my ENTIRE family...for one of the best weeks of my life.

July 2009-- Mat and I celebrate the 4th of July with Lee Harper and Laura Ashley Ingram (now Harper) in Fairhope, AL, where we watched fireworks over the water; Mat and I go to the beach with his entire family for yet another amazing week; we sell our house.

August 2009-- We finish packing up our house, and are out of it by the 1st; we go home to Boaz for one night before heading to Louisville; classes start at SBTS; Mat gets awarded a great scholarship and an internship with Dr. Albert Mohler.

September 2009-- Mat's best friend, Lee Harper, marries Laura Ashley, and Mat gets to perform the wedding; we are on the job hunt; classes are in full swing; we decided to go to Highview Baptist Church, Fegenbush Campus, for church; we meet great new friends and have a great Sunday School class; I get new glasses.

October 2009-- My Birthday Month; I get a job at Ann Taylor LOFT, and Mat gets a job at Brooks Brothers; God continues to show His faithfulness.

November 2009-- We celebrate Mat's birthday; we stay in Louisville for Thanksgiving; Mat and I cook a meal big enough for an army; I decide to not go back to seminary in 2010, and Mat and I start planning and trying to have a baby.

December 2009-- We finish up classes with good grades; God provides a wonderful full-time job with great pay for me; Mat has an amazing Christmas at Brooks Brothers; we get to go home for Christmas, and we have a wonderful 3 days at home; we celebrated New Year's Eve with friends here in Louisville.
