easter sunday

The Easter Bunny didn't forget AWA this year.

Pop always sings "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" to Wattsie (which, by the way, she thinks is hilarious!) and Aunt Lenze pointed out that the song is true... there were baskets full of Easter toys!! (Please know that only 3 things out of all her gifts were from her momma and daddy. The little girl is loved, I tell you. LOVED.)

Mat went and got AWA out of bed to check out her Easter loot, and when he brought her in the living room I said, "Wattsie look at what the Easter Bunny brought you." And (purely by coincidence, I know) she turned around to where her basket was. So funny.

Gran V helped AWA check everything out. The girl racked up!

After church, we had time to snap a few family photos before our lunch. I cherish these photos!

For Easter lunch, we had artichoke dip, pimento cheese and crackers, my mother-in-law's famous homemade biscuits, macaroni and cheese, ham, mashed potatoes, turnip greens, deviled eggs and, of course, Arnold Palmers. We all changed into our comfy clothes and settled down to watch The Masters for the afternoon. Bubba Watson's amazing win was a blast to watch. Easter Sunday was so wonderful this year (except for the fact that Mumsy wasn't here to celebrate with us!). It was the perfect day celebrating our perfect Savior. Praise God for His blessings-- most of all for His Son, Jesus Christ. Praise be to God.

"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures..."
-1 Corinthians 15:3-4

  1. I absolutely love your hair, Whitney! I saw Lenze's post on Facebook, and I did not even recognize you. You look great! And of course, AWA is just as precious as she can be.
