in west philadelphia, born and raised...

On Wednesday, June 20, Mat, Wattsie and I headed north to New Jersey for my brother, Gunter, and Lauren's wedding. We stopped on the way in Philadelphia to spend the night and to tour some of Philly before heading the rest of the way on Thursday.

We stopped somewhere in some northern state to eat at Chipotle. Ama-Watts and I shared guacamole-- our favorite. She did so great on the drive up. She watched Baby Einsteins on Mat's laptop and slept a lot, too.

On Thursday morning, we got up early and drove into Philly to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. It was really, really hot, but Ama-Watts was a total champ. I think she enjoyed people watching and looking at that big bell.

We didn't actually go in to Independence Hall. The line was too long and we were too hot. But we enjoyed the view from the outside. The whole sightseeing thing really wore Ama-Watts out, though. She slept so hard the rest of the way to New Jersey.

And this cute guy was my driver.

We took the Ben Franklin bridge into New Jersey. Mat really loves bridges, and our drive along the eastern coast took us over several great bridges. The BF bridge was amazing...

After leaving Philly, we stopped by Tony Luke's to get a Philly cheesesteak. They were so, so good. If you're ever in the area, Mat and I highly recommend them.

AWA charmed some locals while we were eating...of course, she did. She's such a ham.

I'll blog about Gunter and Lauren's wedding and our travels in New Jersey soon...

Happy Monday!
