you're one month old, ford boy!

This has simultaneously been the longest and the shortest month of my life.

I am now, as of August 8, 2013, the wife to a busy senior pastor and the mom to a curious, strong-willed 20 month old and also to a tiny, sweet one month old. My life is bliss-- and both busy and slow all at the same time.

But, for now, thoughts on my one month old...

Ford, you weigh 8 lbs., 9 oz. (10th percentile) and are 21.5 inches long (10-25th percentile). You are still wearing newborn diapers-- in fact, the tabs cross over in the front when I put them on you. You're such a tiny little guy. I would have never imagined in my entire life how small you would be!

You are nursing on-demand. Because you are so small, I let you eat as often and for as long as you'd like. You love to eat, and you must have a crazy high metabolism to be so small!

You are still wearing mainly newborn size clothes. We only have just a handful of outfits that are small enough for you, so you wear the same things over and over again. I don't think you mind. ;)

You have slept some long stretches at night, but because you are so small, you are not sleeping in your crib yet. That's ok, little buddy. Soon, you will sleep in there and you will love it as much as your big sister does. I'm sure of it.

You've had a bath in the Puj tub (July 29...it took your cord FOREVER to fall off!), and you loved it! You also took your first bottle of pumped milk on August 3. Your sister, you and I also survived our first couple of days home alone--just the three of us. I think we'll make it. :)

Newborn life is good with you, my sweet little guy. It's crazy to think how much I love you. You are the most perfect addition to our family. We couldn't imagine life without you now.

We are so thankful for you, Winford Paul. You are God's gift to your momma. I love you, son.
