pumpkin patch

Last Saturday, Mat, Mumsy and I took the babies to a church member's house for a fall gathering. They had lots of food, games for the kids, tractor rides and a pumpkin patch. We had so much fun, even though it was really hot! Enjoy the pics!

baby dedication...watts and ford

On Sunday, Oct. 6, Mat and I participated in Baby Dedication at FBC. Larry Furhman was there to speak to the parents of the five babies dedicated. He gave us a charge to parent these children well, and to bring them up in the fear and admonition of the Lord. He also charged the church and grandparents to join us in this endeavor.

Mat and I were more than honored to dedicate our two babies to the Lord. We pray that we will be faithful parents who always point our children to Christ.

I was also honored to stand beside my husband as we made a public declaration to commit our children to the Lord. I am so thankful that I get to do this parenthood thing with Mat. I couldn't ask for a better husband or a better father for my children. I am so, so blessed.

Ama-Watts and Ford, we are so thankful to be your parents. Please know that it is our strongest desire to see you both come to know the Lord at an early age. We pray that your lives will make much of the Kingdom of Christ. We pray that you both with have a strong desire to follow the Lord all the days of your lives. We pray that you will be faithful to the callings He will place on each of you. We are always here for you, and we will always be there to help you through whatever may come. We are humans, so we will make mistakes along the way, but we promise, we are working for your good, as is the Lord. We love you both so very much. Thank you for making us parents and for making us proud every single day. We are forever thankful for both of you.

**AWA was dedicated this day, but she couldn't handle the excitement of the stage, so she was escorted to the nursery shortly after the service began.

you're three months old, ford boy!

My sweet Ford boy! I cannot believe you are three months old! It is amazing to think that we are one fourth of the way through your first year. What joy you have brought us!

I took you for a weight check a couple weeks ago, and you weighed 11 lbs., 7 oz., so you are growing! You are still a tiny little guy, but we are so thankful that you are gaining weight. I am still nursing you, but you are drinking formula, too. While I wish I could only give you breastmilk, the formula seems to be helping you gain weight, so I am thankful for it.

You are a pretty good sleeper. You like to go to sleep around 8-9 p.m., and you sleep (in our room beside our bed), until around 3 a.m. usually. Then you'll nurse and go back to sleep until around 6:30 a.m., nurse again, and sleep until around 8:30 a.m. Thankfully, we've never had a stay-up-all-night party with you! :)

You are wearing 3 months clothes and some NB and some 6 months things, too. You are a long guy, so we usually have to buy for length.

You are your sister were dedicated at FBC on Sunday, Oct. 6. You looked so beautiful in your gown. Your daddy and I were privileged to commit to raise you in a Christian home alongside our church family. More on that Sunday to come...

You are such a happy little guy! You love to smile, be sung to and be talked to. I've never met a more smiley little baby in all my life. You bring such happiness and joy to your mother's heart!

You've still not rolled over yet, but I know you will when you are good and ready to. You've found your hands, and you love to chew on them-- especially when you're hungry. You also love to look at your feet.

I've started reading books to you, and you really seem to enjoy it. You love looking at the colors and pictures on the pages. You also like to watch a little bit of Mickey Mouse with your big sister when your momma needs a little break!

Ford boy, you are so sweet, and you are exactly the baby I prayed for. You are smiley and you love to be held close. You are a big cuddler, and your momma couldn't love it (or you!!) any more. You have already brought such joy and happiness to our home. It is a honor to be your mother. I thank God for you every single day.

Happy three months, my little man. I love you so!
